The voice floor. Sculpt the raw saw, then rewire the effect chain in any order — dynamics, filters and the 8-line FDN reverb are all moveable stones in the wall.
Saw Terrorizing Utility
SAW TERROR runs a custom Chaotic-Breakpoint Granular Phase Distortion engine, blending granular grain scattering with phase-distorted breakpoint modulation for unstable, organically shifting timbres. Each voice carries its own independent modulation state, so unison and detune stacks never phase-lock into a static wall of sound — every note breathes on its own trajectory.
The saw itself is already unstable — it morphs, detunes and drifts, with a CHAOS knob and a BEEF switch where politer instruments keep their manners. From there the signal falls: through a granular engine that shreds it into grains and reassembles them wrong on purpose, through allpass phase-distortion networks that bend the waveform's spine until it howls, through an 8-line FDN reverb tuned like a flooded crypt, and through an analog-modeled motion engine dragging flanger, chorus and phaser behind it.
Right-click any knob to chain an LFO to it. Every floor of the machine is a modulation target. Nothing is safe.
Where the saw is born — morph, density, drift, CHAOS, BEEF.
The blade itself. Stack it, sharpen it, mistune it until it cuts.
Resonant gates deciding what escapes the floor and what stays.
How fast the trap springs — and how slowly it lets you go.
Movement between the walls — width, spread, drift in the dark.
The press. Dynamics clamped flat so the wreckage stays seated.
The flooded crypt — eight delay lines feeding back forever.
Viscosity for the signal path — saturation smeared into the gears.
Resolution dragged down the stairs, one bit at a time.
The routing wall. Anything patches into anything. No supervision.
The seal — dust, shellac and a band-limited lo-fi finish.
The last door on the corridor. Level, limit, leave.
The voice floor. Sculpt the raw saw, then rewire the effect chain in any order — dynamics, filters and the 8-line FDN reverb are all moveable stones in the wall.
Phase distortion. Allpass networks bend the waveform's spine until it howls — coefficients morph slowly, so the wreckage stays musical instead of just loud.
Granular delay. The signal is shredded into grains, scattered, frozen, reassembled wrong on purpose. Double-tap the key to reach the second surface underneath.
Motion engine. Flanger, chorus and phaser wired for séance work — they drag the corpse of the signal back to life and keep it twitching in stereo.
Hardware profiles. Bind the machine to your MIDI controller — knob-per-knob CC maps for real hardware, so the dungeon plays like an instrument, not a plugin.
The mouth of the machine. Final gain staging, stereo width and a hard ceiling before the master bus — the only room in the building with manners.
EVERY SOUND ABOVE IS 100% SAW TERROR — NO EXTERNAL SYNTHS, NO SAMPLES.
